cette espece porte le nom de castagnole en latin chromis chromis ,c'est une espece trés abondante en mediterannée , la reproduction est sexuée ,pas de dimorphisme sexuel, le mâle garde les oeufs, la croissance est isométrique chez les deux sexes ,elle se nourrit de ploncton de tunicier de crustacé ,les alevins sont de couleur bleue irisée.
